If this site isn't an outright scam on it's own, then at the very least it condones scammers! It may be possible to find a few genuine people looking for face to face meetings, particularly if you live in a major metropolitan area, but be wary and proceed with caution if you join iwantu.com!

First of all, creating a profile is easy... maybe too easy? You don't even have to fill out the text fields or answer the basic questions to start browsing other members. I made one without providing a photo or any information at all, yet within minutes I began receiving emails! I'm no fool, so of course I knew that these were the "welcome wagon" girls, probably being given special perks or even $ by the company to lure newbies into forking over the bucks for a premium membership in order to reply to them. But trust me, once you upgrade the welcome wagon emails will stop, and these "members" will never return your replies!

Nevertheless, the site did seem to have a large database of recently active local members compared to it's rivals, so I filled out my profile and tried a one month... (Read the full review)

Not only did this site hardly have anyone in my country, but when I repeatedly emailed customer services, asking to turn off repeat billing, I got no response. As there was no obvious way to do it on the site, I followed what I had been advised to do on a previous site, and cancelled my membership. When I did this on the other site my account remained open until the subscription ran out and I was not billed for the next month.

When I did this on Iwantu, my account was immediately closed before the end of my current subscription, AND, they attempted to bill me for the following month! luckily for me, I had lost my bank card, and my bank had issued me with a new one, the old being defunct, I cannot believe the message I got from Iwantu, asking me to update my card, as the repeat billing had failed, after I had emailed them repeatedly with no response asking for repeat billing to be cancelled, and after I had closed my account with them..

Stay well clear of this site!

I am currently a VIP member at IWantU. It costs nearly $60 for the 3 month VIP package that I purchased. The site also offers a token deal that allows users to pay as they go for things such as reading mail and looking at others profiles but this can end up geting very expensive for active users. Overall, my experiece with IWantU has been mostly negative with only a couple good aspects.

Here's the bad points of IWantU.com that I've experienced. First of all, customer support at IWantU is non-existent. It takes at least a week, sometimes weeks, to get your profile approved. As a VIP member, paying 17.99 a month, I would expect faster service but the first two weeks I spent as a paying member I had no profile description, only a photo. I sent customer support a ticket that still hasnt been answered in nearly a month. Because of this slow response to updating people's profiles and approving new member profiles, there are many people on the site that have nothing more for profiles then a message that says "pending approval". This leads me to my next negative.

After a decade reviewing various adult singles and swingers couples sites there are certain high priority features I insist on to ensure you are dealing with real people and not website pimps from other services, fake profiles pushing for upgrades to VIP or GOLD memberships and other variations of that.

The essential ingredient is member validations by other members who have actually met the profile writer in person. I reviewed iwantu.com in 2002 and gave it the grade of F because of this reason. I see no evidence on the standard members profiles that this feature has since been added. Therefore I conclude most of the profiles are fakes so it gets a zero rating. Adult Friend Finder is in the same boat with no validated member profiles.

Beyond that essential missing feature, the 7/24 live chat support doesn't work. So I tried the alternative and used the link for a support "ticket". The browser reports "page not found". This alone would be enough to not recommend this site.

If you want to see a good example of validated profiles you can take out the free membership in SDC.com and swingerlifestyle.com. Both have this feature.
