Shagaholicis an online dating and personals site that aims to give its members the best possible chance of hooking up with someone hot in their area. The site is a partner site to the popular ‘Up For It’ dating site, and so shares many of the same features and accesses the same membership base. With over 2 million members across the world, and a wide range of great features that help to make it easier to get to know in real life a member you find on the site, Shagaholic gives users a good opportunity to hook up with someone each and every night of the week!
Members of Shagaholic can create their own, particularly extensive, user profile complete with an unlimited number of sexy photos. Members can also rate other profiles (and have their own profiles rated) to find out where they rank in terms of ‘hotness’ within the site’s membership. Users are also able to edit their ‘looking for’ preferences at any time in order to be automatically matched with other users in their local area according to their preferences in a potential partner. This matching service is complemented by extensive search features that allow all members to narrow down the millions of users on the site to a favored, selected few. Finally, members can contact others in a number of ways including mail, instant messaging, video chat, chatrooms, discussion boards and more.
Unfortunately, as well as sharing all of UpForIt.com's positive features, Shagaholic is also subject to the same downfalls that its partner site suffers from. Shagaholic offers users some of the most comprehensive profiles we found anywhere in our research for this category, but unfortunately the site also takes longer to join than any other site we have reviewed. On joining the site, members have to complete a wide range of questionnaires (none of which are optional and can be completed at a later date) to populate their profile with information, a process that is particularly time consuming. Members of Shagaholic also comment that the site’s layout isn’t particularly user-friendly and the appearance of the site certainly lacks the polish of many other sites in the adult dating market.
All in all, Shagaholic provides members with access to a wide range of members and a good complement of tools, and while the site has its problems, at around $7 a month, it is reasonably good value for money.
