To be balanced the site claims to have about a 50 / 50 mix of men and ladies. Might be true, if adding up profiles, but most of the lady's profiles are so similar they are obviously made up. I - foolishly - paid to join, despite my suspicions. No replies, no dates. Like the main editorial says, even at "peak" times there are no more than a couple of hundred people on the site and if nearly all of the women are fake the chance of meeting a "real one" is nil, or nearly nil.
One day trading standards will close it down. Hurrah.
In summary, I would not recommend Illicit Encounters to a friend.
