I read reviews of the site - including the ones on here, but other review sites as well, all suggested it might be "average" value for money, but once my profile was complete it began to attract quite a lot of lady's eyes so I paid the subscription and messaged all the women who had initially messaged me. Not one reply. Maybe they had all been snapped up, so I wrote some more letters - quite decent, a few paragraphs, but again almost nothing. I did start talking to one lady but then her profile disappeared very abruptly. Just on the last day some more messages appeared but I couldn't really afford to pay more money. However, after I left the site I was looking again and one day I found nearly the same profile in London and Cumbria but with different names and ages. Maybe some of the other reviews were right, but it seems you have to get in quickly, and women join in groups every month. So if you get your timing wrong maybe you just miss out. Maybe the positive for women is they are taken within hours of joining.
In summary, I would not recommend Illicit Encounters to a friend.
