RedPersonals.com is a site boasting more than
two million members and a host of features for your money. While the
site offers everything that is required as “basic” in an adult dating
site, such as internal email and photo profiles, we can’t see what is
available on this site that is particularly out of the ordinary. The
truth is, we are a little disappointed by what RedPersonals.com offers
for your, frankly, overpriced monthly subscription fee. At its
cheapest, monthly membership of RedPersonals.com costs around $20, and for this we would expect a lot more for our money.
Certainly we weren’t too excited by the look of the site, which,
considering the membership fee and number of members on the site,
seemed a little amateurish.
RedPersonals.com - contrary to the current trend in online adult dating
sites - does not offer the opportunity of instant messaging with other
users within the site. While the site does offer an opportunity for
users to share their contact details on other Instant Messaging sites
(such as YIM, AIM, MSN, ICQ etc) with other users, we don’t feel like
this really meets our expectations for $20 a month. The “live cams”
offered by the site may be mistaken by users as meaning “webcam chat”
with other users. This is not the case, these “live cams” are merely
links to other webcam sites which offer a “live cam chat” service. This
is charged at an additional fee, and we feel, therefore, that members
of this site are getting even less for their money!
The site does offer a number of search options, though we were unable
to find out just what each search method entails. It’s not all bad
though, we did quite like the “who’s online” feature, and the “photo
galleries" feature – respectively allowing you to search through a list of online
members, or simply browse the profile pictures of other members. While these are by no means unique in terms of adult
dating sites, we were nonetheless happy with their inclusion as they
offer the user a little more than just a simple search function. In a
similar fashion, we were pleased with the “Red Book” feature, operating
in the same way as a “little black book” on other sites. The forums on
this site is one of the better features – they are extremely well used
and often have numerous exciting and sexy threads on the go. If you’re
new to the site, this is an excellent way to get involved and start to
feel part of the community.
While there are some good features on the site, we weren’t generally
that impressed with what you got for your money. For around half the
price, a subscription to AdultFriendFinder offers substantially more,
in terms of features, and members. We would suggest giving that a go
instead!
