IAmFreeTonight is a unique site that is based around a concept of university dating. The site, which has more than 50,000 members, allows individuals to list a “new date” (when, where, what you wish to do, and who you are looking to share it with) and to search existing dates to see if there is anyone looking for someone who matches your profile. Instead of simply looking for a hook-up, or advertising for sex, this site is particularly unique in that it allows individuals, groups and couples to look for others to share a particular activity with them.

Although the site does not, at login, specifically state that it is a College students-only site, this does seem to be the case. When you begin to design a profile, you are asked to state which educational establishment you study at from a comprehensive list of institutions. The site is affiliated with a reputable verification site, which can ensure that members of the site are who they say they are, and that they do indeed attend a particular institution.

One of the most notable elements of the site is that it is entirely free to join, and unlike most sites does not (at the moment of writing) require a monthly subscription. Considering it is free, there are a number of useful features which a member can make use of – members can virtually flirt with other users, upload photographs, send and receive internal email, participate in forums and contests, maintain a hotlist of other users and send invites to particular events to other users. One disadvantage of the fact that the site is free to join, is that the bandwidth of the site limits the number of users that can join. At the time of writing, the site is no longer accepting new members, which is a particular shame.
