Editor's Verdict:

For a site boasting thousands of members and a real possibility of getting a real hookup in your local area (hence the "AdultLocals" name) the site is disappointing. Firstly, the limited user base, which is significantly smaller than many other sites we reviewed for this category, and of course, worlds behind our top-rated adult dating site, AdultFriend Finder, means the chances of actually managing to arrange a real meet-up with someone in your area are slim indeed. This limited user base is coupled with the fact that the site is significantly more expensive than other sites, and considering what it offers, is not very good value for money.

For a site that is advertised as one specializing in local hook-ups, it seems ridiculous that it is not possible to search by ZIP or postal code. The options to search by city, state and country do exist, but these are not specific, especially if you happen to live in a big city. Also, there is a significant fault in the search capabilities of the site, because changing sexual orientation and gender in the search fields does not appear to change the results generated. This could be because the site simply does not have enough active members, and as a result, the site simply returns any results that are close to your chosen geographical area. This is annoying, and for paying members, very disappointing. Searching in general falls behind the capabilities of other sites, with extremely limited search options. This is because profiles are also limited in the information they hold - basic relationship characteristics, age, gender, location is about as extensive as it gets.

As if it couldn't get any worse, basic members are only allowed to view the first ten pages of detailed profiles, and after this are required to upgrade. They cannot communicate in any way with other members, except using free 'flirts', which of course, have limited appeal. Finally, live cams featured on the site are not members of the site, but a link to a pay-as-you-view live cam site. For $29.95 a month you certainly don't appear to get very much for your money. AdultLocals.com is probably worth joining as a basic member, and upgrade only if you find someone that is a genuinely great match. Other than that, we have reviewed a great number of sites that perform much better, and cost a lot less too.
